So if you don't know I recently got married and we wrote our own vows. Some of you may know that I had three alternative versions before I came to the "Official Version." Below are the vows starting from the first draft. Leave comments, let me know what you think!
#1: Alexis, as we turn the page to start a new chapter in this exciting life we have begun together, I promise to do everything in my power to bring you everything you deserve in life. I can't always promise you good times but I will keep a smile on your face, strength in the dark and love in your heart. Remember these words, I love you more!
I will also keep track of your phone and glasses, because we all know that you can never find them! I will share the remote and maybe let you pick a movie or two. But seriously, I will always be here for you in good times and bad, for poor and poorer and remember I will always love you more!
#2: Alexis, as we continue to ride this roller coaster that we call life you must remember there will be ups and there will be downs. But keep your hands and feet in the vehicle at all times, smile every chance you get and I will always be at your side in this life of a ride.
#3: Alexis, when I think back on everything that we have been through, it makes me smile. Not because they were all good times but the fact that you never left my side. Remembering that it is not about what we have but how we made it and the love that we share.
I can't always promise good times, but good or bad...I will never leave your side. I will be the strength when you are weak, the smile through the tears and the light in your darkest hour. I love you and never forget it!
#4: In a world where forever is hard to find, I have you.
When life gets you down, you have me.
And when things get rough, we have each other. I can't always promise good times but they will be ours. I will be the man you deserve! I love you more and more everyday, never forget that!
So those are my rough drafts... Some are rough, but oh well.
Marriage is not about the words that are spoken it is about the ones never said.
